There has been a choir at St George’s Church for many years and music forms an important part of our church worship. We are small in number but big on enthusiasm and are fortunate to have all four voice parts. (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) which enables us to tackle a large and varied repertoire. We sing at all morning services and once a month we have a full Choral Evensong.
The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and some members of our group have worked on its award scheme, gaining impressive results (and medals).
Our aim is to provide music for all types of services and all sorts of occasions and have sung in Canterbury and Rochester Cathedrals.
We are a friendly bunch of individuals and welcome anyone new – young and not so young. Perhaps you might like to consider joining us; you can be sure of a warm welcome. We meet weekly on Friday evenings (6.50pm -8pm). All we ask is a commitment to attend at least two practices a month, plus a rehearsal before Choral evensong.
For more information please ask speak to Charlotte O’Neill, the Rector or any member of the choir.
